Fundraising Process

Golfers fundraise on behalf of Greek InterVarsity while playing 100 holes in roughly 10 hours of golf. These golfers are the heros of the day, with many fundraising over $50 per hole ($5,000 total) toward Greek InterVarsity’s mission. Upon registering, golfers begin fundraising through their own networks, sharing why they’re participating and how others can help by sponsoring them. Each golfer has their own donation account set up through InterVarsity and a direct link so they can share it easily.

  • Golfers set a goal of how many scholarships they want to raise for Greek Conference:

    • $2500 - Provide 10 student scholarships to Greek Conference
    • $5000 - Provide 20 student scholarships to Greek Conference
    • $10,000 - Provide 40 student scholarships to Greek Conference

  • Our fundraising schedule is a 4 week sprint of sending messages to potential donors and following up with them. Here’s what that looks like:

    • Week of Aug. 26 - Select Funding Goal & Develop Potential Donor List
    • Week of Sept. 2 - Send First Message to Potential Donors
    • Week of Sept. 9 - Send Second Message
    • Week of Sept. 16 - Send Final Message
    • Sept. 27 - Play in Golf Marathon!

Playing 100 Holes

It takes more than skill to complete 100 holes in one day – a steady pace is essential to keeping everyone on track to completing the event in one day! That’s 5 1/2 rounds, each with various challenges and play styles.

Volunteers and caddies will encourage your pace throughout the day and will also provide snacks, beverages and your lunch for the day on the course so that you don’t need to slow down.

  • 6:45am - Arrive
    7:00am - Opening Session/Breakfast
    7:30 - Tee Off
    9:15am - 18 Holes completed
    11:00am - 36 Holes completed/Lunch on the course
    1:00pm - 54 Holes completed
    2:45pm - 72 Holes completed
    4:30pm - 90 Holes completed
5:30pm - 100 Holes completed! Closing Ceremony, Dinner & Awards

  • Each team will begin on a different hole to start the event. From there, each team will play however many holes necessary to get back to Hole #1. After completing these holes using normal rules, the following rounds will feature both standard event formats like best ball and scramble and unique rounds that will be revealed the day of the event!

  • While aiming for a low score is always important, prizes will be awarded in multiple categories - top fundraisers, low scores, and other fun challenges on the course. And you’ll be paired up with a Greek InterVarsity campus, so not only can you win prizes for yourself, but you can win scholarship money for your campus to help get students to Greek Conference!
